The Mid-South Community College Foundation was incorporated in
1992 as an independent entity charged with furthering the development
and expansion of the College. The Foundation, a private, non-profit
corporation organized under a tax exempt 501 (c)(3) status, secures
funds - above and beyond state and local appropriations - to further
enhance the efforts of the College. Funds raised and managed by
the Foundation may support a wide variety of endeavors from individual
scholarships to campus expansion.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
|
|
In October 1992, the Arkansas Board of Higher Education approved
Mid-South's application for conversion to a community college.
In October 2002, we began celebrating our 10-year anniversary.
The changes we have experienced during the past decade have
been nothing short of amazing. From a modest enrollment of
139 in the fall of 1993, MSCC has grown to become the college
of choice this fall for 1,143 students. And we expect to
|
serve another 2,000 people through our continuing education
classes.Over the past ten years, state funding has increased
from $1.5 million in 1993 to $3.8 million in 2002. In addition
we've invested approximately $38.5 million to expand our
campus and another $17.8 million from outside grant sources
to assist students, develop instructional programs and meet
community training needs.
Many of you have played significant roles in laying the
foundation for higher education in Crittenden County. As
a community, you've pledged another $3 million to the MSCC
Foundation in support of facilities, programs, and services.
Without your generosity and belief in our mission, we could
not have realized many of the tremendous blessings we've
experienced. You are the heroes to whom many owe a sincere
"thank you" for investing in the future of our
region.
And now we turn toward our vision for the future. In addition
to offering quality affordable educational opportunities,
we will continually evaluate our community's needs and seek
to provide programs and services that will enhance the regional
economy. We continue to face many challenges, but we have
already come farther than many ever imagined. And working
together, we can make the future brighter than ever.
We hope you like the changes you've seen in MSCC. We hope
you like what you see and will continue to partner with
us as we embark upon our next 10 years.
